If you have not filed tax returns, or if you dispute what is owed to the IRS or NC Department of Revenue ("NCDOR"), we are not the firm to help you.  However, many of our clients (1) agree that they owe the IRS or NCDOR but (2) don't have the ability to repay the taxes.  In that event, a bankruptcy may be the best option because:

1. We may be able to eliminate the tax liability if the taxes owed are the correct age.  We have many clients who pay the IRS or NCDOR nothing despite having a very large pre-bankruptcy tax liability.

2. If the taxes are not the correct age (i.e., they are from a recent year), or if a person has not filed tax returns as required, we have ways of imposing a 3-5 year repayment plan on the IRS or NCDOR, and the repayment plan often involves paying the IRS or NCDOR the base tax with no further penalties or interest.
